SenCha Fukamushi Green Tea - Sedona Arizona's Full-Leaf Tea Store
This Japanese loose leaf GREEN TEA is produced from 1st and 2nd harvest leaves (spring & early summer), and specifically grown in Shizuoka, about 90 miles southwest of Tokyo and not far from Mount Fuji. This is the classic Japanese tea which constitutes over 80% of tea consumption in Japan. It’s characterized by a grassy aroma and a mild sweet taste balanced with a slight underlying bitterness. The biggest factors determining the flavor and appearance of SenCha are the harvest and steaming time. This "Fukamushi” style refers to the deeper and longer steaming process after the harvest. This extra steaming time results in finer leaves, and the taste is richer and more full-bodied than regular or lightly steamed SenCha. Depending on steeping conditions, it has a bit of sweetness (less than gyokuro) and outstanding fragrance.
MODERATELY CAFFEINATED (approx 30% of the caffeine as coffee)
AVAILABLE AS: 2 OZ Package, 1 OZ TastingSample
Package size is 2 ounces of full leaf tea, which yields approximately 25 first cups. Tasting sample is 1 ounce for about 10-12 cups.

A second and third infusion or more is possible by increasing steep time 30 seconds each time. Japanese tea is especially enjoyed as a “true cold-brew", by brewing for a least 10-15 minutes with melting ice.
