Ba Xian Xiang Oolong Tea - Sedona Arizona's Full-Leaf Tea Store
More famously known as Eight Immortals, although this offering is a much higher grade than usually found, if you can find it. Initial slight astringency that mellows, big aroma, slight sweetness, complex, floral and citrus notes, fairly thick mouthfeel, and incredibly long aftertaste. Strong cha qi, so do not operate heavy machinery while drinking. These dark, long, gently twisted leaves come from Fenghuang (also known as Phoenix) Mountain, near Chaozhou in the Guangdong Province of China. At 2000-4200 feet, Phoenix Mountain is the perfect microclimate for superb quality Dan Cong Oolongs. These low production/small batch leaves come from a spring picked older tea tree. Rare delicacy direct from Tea Master Huang Shu Wei. We had the privilege of working, learning, tasting tea with Shu Wei at his factory for three days in October 2016.
