Trailhead GraviTEA 2-Cup Brewer - from Trailhead Tea, Sedona, Arizona
Better than a teabag or standard filter, and NOT a coffee press. The more times you infuse your tea leaves, the more desirable this is.
Premium bagged tea can be more expensive. A package of teabags or sachets can cost $10 for about an ounce. But, a pack of the same in loose-leaf form could be less than $20 for 3 ounces. Stainless steel tea eggs are ok, and do-it-yourself teabags can still be wasteful. Both may not have enough room for the tea leaves to expand properly. A brewer is so much more functional and can make drinking tea easier.
Put tea and hot water in the pot, let it brew, then just set it over the cup. The bottom of the brewer is pressed to open the valve and release the tea through its filter. When you lift the pot off the cup, the valve closes and the tea stops flowing. Sitting on your counter or desk, there are small feet to keep the valve closed, and the tea is ready for maybe several infusions. There’s plenty of room or the tea leaves to expand and move around, and can make two 8-oz cups or a 16-oz mug.
Easy to clean most of the time by just rinsing out the leaves. Occasionally you can pop off the lid to put it on the top level of the dishwasher. Pull out the filter for a deeper scrub only when really necessary.
